Case in point, in 2019, a major petroleum company approached us to assist with implementing their international blueprint for data connectivity at several fuel stations. Our team was tasked with providing primary and failover data access links on separate infrastructure providers with diverse routes, as well as the supply of forecourt WiFi for Point of Sale (POS) terminals and remote proactive management with regular reporting. Our strategy needed to include monitoring and proactive management performed through an onsite router, which also controlled the link management between primary and failover and required the creation of a secure VPN over our network.   

We connected 74 fuel stations with our comprehensive solution, successfully deploying and managing the project within the allocated timelines with all onsite applications functioning as requested. Moreover, our team implemented the requirements while strictly complying with all the necessary Health & Safety requirements.

A project of this nature and scalability is best demonstrated when our team embarked on providing a permanent event connectivity solution for a well-known South African bank. In this case, we needed to create a solution for a farmer’s market, whereby WiFi connectivity for Point of Sale (POS), Internet Access for all patrons, and backup power was required. 

Our solution included:

• Maximum WiFi coverage through 20 Mbps Microwave link as the access medium, which is connected to multiple APs, placed strategically around the venue. 
• Three separate WiFi zones, consisting of two secure options for the Bank & its vendor’s POS terminals and an Internet Access option for the general public. W
• Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) for backup power, powering all WiFi APs and the Microwave link for uninterrupted trading during power outages.

Given that over 50% of Huge Connect is built around operational support, it is unsurprising that this solution was so successfully deployed and tested that it has since been used as a standard solution for this Bank’s similar requirements on a national level.
